About the Role:

As a BRUIN Consultant, you'll be the first point of contact for our vibrant university community, providing top-notch technical and operational support to students, faculty, and staff. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience, addressing inquiries related to applications, systems, hardware, financial aid, registration, and more. Your ability to prioritize, document, and resolve issues efficiently will be key to our success.

 

What You'll Do:

 

Provide Exceptional Tier One Support:

  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, delivering courteous and timely resolutions.
  • Guide customers through university policies and procedures related to registration, financial aid, student accounts, enrollment, and academic advising.
  • Accurately document all interactions, including user information and problem details.
  • Process university forms and manage student requests efficiently.
  • Build rapport, understand user needs, and prioritize urgent situations, escalating as needed.
  • Meticulously document troubleshooting steps and solutions.
  • Manage technical advisories and website notifications.
  • Handle cashiering duties, balance transactions, and accurately process payments.
  • Explain tuition, fees, and financial aid information, including FAFSA procedures and eligibility.
  • Process financial aid waivers and provide guidance on disbursements and refunds.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of instructional materials.
  • Share knowledge and promote self-service resources.
  • Technical issue resolutions, including password resets, browser issues, operating system support, peripheral support, and LMS support (Blackboard).

 

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Some college education preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of customer service experience.
  • Financial aid experience (preferred but not required).
  • Technical support/service desk experience or related technical background.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and PC hardware/software.
  • Familiarity with Macintosh OS10 (preferred).
  • Knowledge of mobile operating systems (iOS, Android).
  • Experience with LMS, CRM, and CMS applications (proficient level preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Basic mathematical skills for cashiering duties.
