Position Summary
As a Shipping Specialist I you will report directly to the Shipping/Warehouse Manager, while playing an essential role in fulfilling entry-level orders and minor inventory control requirements. You will accurately and efficiently assist the warehouse team in achieving all shipping and inventory goals to meet REI’s world class quality standards.
- Prepares domestic and international orders per customer requirements using RF scanner, labeling, and creating shipping documents
- Packing orders per customer requirements, checking carton contents for accuracy
- Prepare parcel shipping labels
- Prepare pallet shipments (LTL), creating Bill of Lading
- Wrap and label pallets
- Slotting finished goods according to warehouse standards
- Consolidating/ replenishing inventory when picking quantities are low
- Maintains accurate inventory levels and may assist in cycle counting of physical inventory
- Assisting Receiving Department, including unloading pallets and containerized shipments
- Pallet jack operation, may operation forklift
- Maintains safe and clean work environment
- General warehouse duties
- Other duties as necessary

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
- Basic knowledge of inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics principles
- Forklift operation experience preferred; certification not required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports
- Proficiency with shipping software and systems (International shipping, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager preferred)
- Ability to consistently lift 25-50 lbs. and prolonged periods of standing, walking, and manual handling of materials
