HBL is looking for an accurate and experienced Packaging Designer to develop creative packaging designs for our products.  As a packaging designer, you will work to develop functional, eye-catching packaging designs that resonate with our target market.  The qualified candidate will have a good eye for style and in-depth knowledge of packaging regulations. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Meet with the marketing team to discuss packaging specifications
  • Evaluate market trends and analyze similar packaging designs
  • Brainstorm packaging ideas 
  • Ensure packaging designs accurately represent the company’s brand
  • Select functional ideas and creating packaging mock-ups
  • Collaborate with marketing to finalize packaging text and graphics
  • Interact with clients on the phone, email, and in-person
  • Complete final mock-up designs using computer modeling software and photoshop
  • Present final designs to stakeholders and company managers
  • Assist as needed with branding
  • Understand HBL’s ideal customers and their accounts
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, graphic design, art, or a similar field; or Associate’s degree in industrial design, graphic design, art or a similar field with 5+ years’ of experience
  • Marketing experience would be preferable
  • Knowledge of packaging design preferred; experience working as a packaging designer a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in both written and oral form across the organization
  • Experience with market research and product placement advertising
  • Familiarity with various packaging materials
  • Proven proficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Highly detail-oriented and accurate with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
  • Superb organization, project management, time management, and collaboration abilities
  • Knowledge of lighting industry a plus
