JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible to assist RT staff as assigned to ensure quality service delivery. Collaborates with licensed respiratory personnel in the areas of stocking, cleaning, sterilization and maintenance of respiratory therapy supplies and equipment. Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols and procedures. Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for Madonna as a whole, including upholding the mission and values for the department and facility.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepare and maintain ventilators and other RT equipment for patient use
• Tear down RT equipment upon patient discharge and deliver to CS for processing
• Monitor RT equipment and supplies in RT storage areas
• Stocking RT supplies in patient rooms
• Check crash carts and perform crash cart QA
• Clean and process bronchoscopes
• Assist RT staff as assigned
• Assist with QA and infection prevention initiatives as assigned
• Perform O2 tank rounds
• Collaborates/communicates effectively with other staff.
  
  PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
• Medium work with frequent lifting.
• Manual patient transfer or reposition which does not exceed the equivalent of 35 pounds of force to lift, push or pull.
• Requires sufficient strength to produce 50 pounds of force to push a wheelchair with a 300-pound individual on level surfaces.
  
  QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Current progress toward a degree in Respiratory Therapy or applicable health care experience preferred.
