Description

The Summer Intern Child Care Associate will be responsible for operating a developmentally appropriate early childhood education classroom in cooperation with other Associates and Lead Associates.

Job Duties

Assist in the implementation of activities for individual and/or groups of children within a specified age range, working within a childcare center, classroom or field environment.
Ensuring children's portfolio and other standards are up to date through communication and conferences are met.
Support classrooms and to cover and work with a variety of ages.
Assist withÂ general housekeeping tasks of the center, proper use and clean-up of equipment and areas, including laundry tasks, kitchen cleanup, storing of equipment and playground

Qualifications

Must be a student in an education academy at your local high school or community college.
Must pass pre-employment criminal background check.
Specialty licensure/certification is required, as specified by the Iowa DHS Child Care Licensing Regulations
Must have a letter of recommendation from your high school or college professor in order to apply.

Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
