Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team and help serve patients across our inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings. Priority consideration given to applicants who have direct phlebotomy work experience in a hospital setting.

Location: Nebraska Medical Center | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE

Shift Details:

• First Shift Availability: 2:30 AM - 12:30 PM

• Training Requirement: Casual employees must complete training on First Shift for a minimum of 3 days per week, Monday through Friday.

• Holiday Requirement: Casual employees must work at least 1 summer and 1 winter holiday.

Duties: Phlebotomist

Responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies. Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, represent the lab in a professional manner, and provide excellent customer service. May process and distribute patient specimen for clinical laboratory testing.

Required Qualifications: Phlebotomist

* Minimum of 18 years of age required.
* High school education or equivalent required.
* Effective written and oral communication skills required.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
* Computer experience required.
* Attention to detail required.
* Ability to multitask required.
* Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Preferred Qualifications: Phlebotomist

* Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
* Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred
