Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | Knowledge of the principles and methods of public health practice, particularly as relates to maternal and child health (MCH), HIV/AIDS, infant mortality and preconception health; knowledge about programs and project administration, including organizational methods; knowledge of current trends in the delivery of public health/MCH services; knowledge about programs and project administration, including organizational methods; knowledge of current trends in the delivery of public health/MCH serves; knowledge of other health and human services systems; and, knowledge of HIV/AIDS, infant mortality, and preconception health as public health issues. Knowledge of the impacts of racism on health outcomes. Skills in verbal and written communication; skills in communicating effectively to a variety of audiences including: scientific, policy making, technical and lay audiences; considerable skills in organizing and managing complex tasks; demonstrated cross-cultural skills and experience to assure cultural competency in services and products. The ability to provide peer leadership to ensure quality completion and timely delivery of organizational products and services; ability to develop and sustain cooperative relationships with representatives of national organizations and funding sources; ability to work in a team environment. This position will involve national travel and occasionally will include hours beyond the normal work day of 8:00am to 4:30pm. |
