Position Qualification

Position Summary
The post-doctoral research associate will work on an NIH funded project that aims to develop technologies that will address common challenges relating to developing and breeding mouse models. The candidate will take advantage of the breakthrough technological contributions developed at UNMC’s mouse genome engineering core facility. The candidate will work on testing and validating several ideas for inserting multi-Kb DNA molecules into the mouse genome precisely and efficiently. The candidate is expected to be creative and innovative in developing newer ideas related to the projects.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D.

The candidate should have experience in two or more of the following areas: animal models, gene-editing/molecular-biology and gene therapy or gene delivery technologies.

Supplemental Qualifications
Prior experience in designing and developing genome edited animal models and working knowledge of mouse molecular genetics and breeding is a strong plus.

Direct experience with genome editing, and a comprehensive knowledge of the state-of-the-art technologies, particularly using rodent models or higher organisms, is a strong plus.
