About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Advancement to lead and manage comprehensive fundraising, engagement, and development activities for multiple distinct university priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing comprehensive advancement strategies that support the unique missions of these units, with a focus on the resource needs identified by the respective unit Deans. This includes overseeing the cultivation and stewardship of donor relationships, enhancing the visibility and impact of the programs, and serving as the chief development officer for the identified units. Candidates for this role at The Company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least five years of experience in fundraising or a related field, with a preference for those with experience in higher education fundraising. Key skills include the ability to manage a comprehensive advancement plan, a proven track record in all aspects of development, and expert written and interpersonal communication skills. The Executive Director will work closely with Deans, faculty, and central Advancement colleagues to achieve high levels of engagement and financial support from various stakeholders. Responsibilities also include managing a personal portfolio of major donors, strategic collaboration with central advancement offices, and representing the programs across the university community. The role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to make compelling cases for support, and a commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
