Sacred Heart Plus Childcare Provider F/T

Sacred Heart Plus is the after school, extended care, and summer program for Sacred Heart Preschool and School. We provide a Christian atmosphere where the children can play and use their creativity through many activities provided to them. Our program uses PBIS and Creative Curriculum for planning and classroom management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Build a positive, trust-based relationship with each child and their family by providing positive communication and body language at all times.

• Communicate and work as a team with co-workers

• Supervise children carefully and consistently indoors and outdoors.

• Maintain and support a structured environment and routine that provides children with consistency as well as the ability to freely explore and engage in constructive, purposeful play.

• Promote social and emotional competency, self-confidence, and resiliency by using effective role modeling.

• Provide consistent, positive guidance and behavior supports according to established Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports guidelines.

• Prepare, organize and serve snacks and meals as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned such as cleaning (involving Bleach and sanitizing chemicals) and planning

Hours of operation 7am-6pm Monday through Friday, no nights or weekends.

Requirements for position:

• Must clear Iowa and Federal background check
• Lift up to 25 pounds
• Walk various distances including from room to room, child care building to school building, field trip locations
• Stand for long periods of times

Post Hire Required Trainings:

• VIRTUS (before can start)
• First Aid/CPR (every 2 years)
• Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting (every 3 years)
• Universal Precautions (annually)
• Child Care Pre-Service Essentials Training (every 5 years)
• 6 hours of Professional Development annually
